Anthropometric and Functional Anatomy, Data, • Anthropometry can be defined as “the science, that deals with the measurement of human, body.”

Static Anthropometric Data, • The two standard fixed positions are standing, and sitting positions, • The data of different physical characteristics, are obtained for various groups of people., • These measurements have limited application, and can be used for designing personnel, goods and safety appliances.

Ergonomic considerations in Design of Control, • Controls must be placed properly and logically, • Design of controls should be done considering the, anatomy of human hand., • Proper colour coding for the controls like knobs and, push buttons provide positive psychological effect., • Hand wheels should not be used in compact spaces., • Knobs or push buttons can be provided with rough top, surface for gripping and fingering.
